Injury Rehab

Regardless of your injury, rehabilitation exercises ensure that your recovery is successful and will also help to prevent further reoccurrence. As a patient, you will be given a personalized rehabilitation program to ensure that you will safely and effectively reach your goals of recovery.

Rehabilitation exercises may include floor exercises (using your own body weight as resistance), free-weights, tubing (rubber resistance bands) or cardiovascular exercise.

Proper stretching is also a key component to rehabilitation exercise. If done poorly, stretching can actually aggravate certain conditions. Proper positioning, movements and tension will ensure maximum muscle stretch with minimal risk of injury.

We also specialize in low back injuries and core strength. Most people suffer back injury due to poorly developed core muscles. Strengthening these muscles can help to stabilize the low back and decrease the load placed on the spine.

Sport Injury Rehab

As a member of the Sports Centres network, we have the necessary facilities to ensure proper recovery from sports injuries and return to optimal playing form. We use chiropractic treatment, electro-therapy, laser, soft tissue release and rehabilitation exercises to get athletes back in the game with minimal time off.

Pre & Post-Surgical Rehab

For many people suffering from hip, knee or shoulder problems, surgery is often just the beginning in their return to normal function. Although many surgeries are successful in repairing or correcting the problem, the resulting pain and inflammation can make it difficult for you to continue with your daily life. Loss of strength and decreased range of movement after surgery may also contribute to long-term discomfort.

Chiropractors are well educated in post-surgical rehabilitation and can also provide treatment protocols to help control your pain and swelling while you regain your strength and flexibility. Our team has experience in Kinesiology and Personal Training to design a specific program of treatment and exercises to help you receive the most from your recovery.

If you are scheduled to have surgery in the near future, feel free to contact us to discuss possible recovery protocols in advance. This allows us to plan ahead for your specific needs and begin your program immediately following your surgery.

Recent research in surgical protocols have emphasized pre-surgery strengthening programs to help prepare the body for upcoming surgery. These pre-surgical programs are very useful in strengthening accessory muscles around the surgical site to aid in quicker recovery following surgery.

If your post-surgical rehabilitation is not progressing as well as you would like, or if you have depleted your physiotherapy coverage, we would be happy to evaluate your situation and offer our help in speeding up your recovery.
